Betsy Fischer has been dancing ever since she could walk! Her parents are talented dancers, and from them she inherited a great sense of rhythm. In addition to taking and/or teaching dance classes for most of her life, Betsy has also choreographed and directed many stage productions and musical numbers. 
Betsy is a graduate of Rutgers University and is a New Jersey State Certified Elementary Teacher and a Teacher of the Handicapped. She received her Master’s Degree from Temple University, where her studies focused on including handicapped children in the performing arts. Betsy also earned a Supervisory Certificate in Special Education Administration.
After working as a Special Education Teacher for ten years, Betsy developed and offered Social Dance classes for 11-13 year-olds. The overwhelming response to these classes led to additional classes for adults. These adult classes, in turn, created opportunities to entertain at parties by teaching and leading dances during the festivities. This was the foundation for Betsy's mobile DJ business, Party Dancing with Betsy Fischer, LLC. Party Dancing has been operating for over 10 years, and Betsy and her staff continue to entertain at Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Weddings, Birthday Parties, Sweet Sixteens, School Events, Fundraisers, and Corporate Events at venues throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
For a long time Betsy dreamed of opening her own Dance Party Studio, a venue in which she could share her passion for dance with her clients of all ages. Finally, she found a space to meet her needs, and Betsy Fischer’s Groove Lounge officially opened in late November, 2008. The Groove Lounge got off to a very busy start, and Betsy and her staff have been moving and grooving ever since. In addition to hosting fabulous parties, Betsy, who is a certified Zumba instructor, began offering Zumba classes as well.
Needless to say, Betsy is a very busy lady – DJ, Event Planner, Dance Instructor, Choreographer, Zumba Instructor and Entrepreneur. She is a member of the New Jersey Disc Jockey Network (NJDJN) , the National Association of Mobile Entertainers (NAME), attends meetings of the International Society of Event Specialists (ISES) and has attended the International DJ Convention every summer since 1997, where she has competed as a finalist in the DJ of the Year Competition for several years. Betsy is also a wife and the mother of three wonderful children. And although her children remain her greatest productions to date, Betsy is thrilled to have this dream come true and so proud to have a place to call her own.
